FAQ
Everything you need to know about how Mona uses Polar.sh for membership access, billing, support, and entitlements.
Last updated:
Why did we choose Polar?
We chose Polar because it offers a developer-first commerce stack that unifies checkout, entitlements, receipts, payouts, and a customer portal in one API. It also handles global payments, taxes, refunds, and compliance, allowing us to focus on building Mona's kiosk experience while maintaining a direct relationship with our customers.
For more information about Polar, visit its official site .
What can I purchase or unlock through Polar Checkout?
Currently, you can access one-time payment posts or subscription-based posts. We plan to introduce more options in the future — stay tuned!
Can I pay in my local currency? What are the fees?
Yes. Polar supports global payments (except from sanctioned countries). You can pay using international methods, including credit cards from any country. Wallet payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported, depending on your device and browser.
Please note that international cards incur an additional 1.5% fee.

Where do I see invoices or my billings?
Each successful checkout email includes a secure Polar Portal link, where you can download invoices, update your payment method, switch tiers, or cancel your plan.
You can also access the same Polar customer portal by selecting "My Purchases" after logging in to Mona. A short-lived portal session is securely requested from Polar, ensuring that no static links are ever exposed.

What data is shared with Polar?
Only the information Polar needs to process payments: your email address, cookies, selected item, currency, VAT/tax metadata, and audit events linked to your entitlements.
We never share your browsing history, saved prompts, or workspace data. For full details, please see our privacy policy.
How are taxes and VAT calculated?
Polar automatically calculates applicable taxes (VAT, GST, or sales tax) for each checkout based on your billing country, business status, and the product metadata we provide.
These rates are maintained and updated directly by Polar, so Mona does not keep separate tax tables or modify the totals displayed during checkout.

How do refunds or support escalations work?
To request a refund, please email mymona.xyz@gmail.com with the details below. They will help us locate and verify your transaction.
Refunds cover up to 70% of the order total to account for payment processing fees and other associated costs. Approved refunds are reviewed and processed within 5–10 business days, and funds will be returned via your original payment method once Polar finalizes the ledger update.
